Well, the first ever Winter Dew Tour has come to an end! With the final stop at Northstar-at-Tahoe, the sun was shining and the place was packed. Northstar reported record attendance on Saturday, but then came Sunday. Unfortunately, for halfpipe finals it was pretty much pouring rain all day and folks were soaked. Even though the crowd had died down and the weather was less than ideal, it didn’t prevent the Riders from putting on a show. Our own JJ Thomas represented in the finals, finishing 5th in the men’s pipe and Sam Hulbert was 5th overall in points for men’s slopestyle. Megan Ginter had a strong showing in both of the previous stops, but unfortunately due to injury she was unable to participate in slopestyle at Northstar.

JJ Thomas participated in a poster signing at the party Porter’s hosted in their Truckee location. The store was packed with eager beer drinkers spending money.

The final stop of the Dew Tour proved to be great. Sun and warm temps helped the snow soften up enough for everyone to feel like a hero. Besides the great snowboarding, some of the week’s highlights were a performance by Common right in the village and a Party Super-Sale at Porters!

The pipe was good at Northstar as always, and the practice days were some of the most fun sessions of the year. The qualies were a blast due to the warm temps and soft conditions. This was all great, but then the finals turned into a tropical storm. Rain was coming down like a summer monsoon, but the show had to go on and on it did. I landed my first run and luckily it held to put me in 5th place. The flying tomato had a chance to win but fell at the end, which caused the crowd to erupt into a frenzy. I’m not sure if it was for the excitement of Mason’s win or just for the fact the comp was over and everyone could go home and dry out! Either way, it was an insane event considering it was raining and the crowd came out to cheer us on through miserable conditions.

Thanks to the Dew Tour for putting on one of the best tour’s I’ve been involved with and thanks to the people at every stop who came out in the cold conditions and supported us.

Am 28. Februar 09 wird der erste Snowboard Contest am Salzwinkel Skilift stattfinden.

Im Vordergrund stehen hier nicht die Platzierungen und Preise, sondern der Spaß und das gemeinsame Riding.

Los geht der im jam-session-format ausgetragene Contest um 16:00 Uhr. Ab 18:00 Uhr gibt’s die Quali und das Final bei Flutlicht dann ab 22:00 Uhr.

Für läppische 5 Euro könnt ihr euch das Contest Ticket sichern.

Also ab in den Park, im Backcountry gibts momentan eh wenig zu holen.

Bei der Alliance of Action Sports (ALLI) Dew Tour Toyata Championship konnte sie mit ihrem zweiten Piperun überzeugen, was ihr die höchste Score von 95,9 einbrachte.

Auf die Ränge verwies sie so Kelly Clark und Hannah Teter.

Am 21 Februar 09 rockte die Nikita Chickita in Mammoth’s South Park.

Mehr als 70 girls waren drauf und dran, sich den begehrten 1-year Sponsorship zu sichern.

Marley Colt (17) konnte sicher letzenendes durchsetzen und sicherte sich den Vertrag. Dazu kamen Preise von Osiris, Coal, Lomo, pom, Flux und Omatic.
